There are different ways to insert Clauses in your Templates: sometimes you always need one Clause in the document, while in other cases you need to conditionally insert them.

Clause always appears in the document

Add Clauses as a Default value or dropdown options of a field:

  • When you create a field, click the textbox on the right side of the Default Value to reference a Clause.

  • Fields will be denoted with {{double curly braces}}. If you don't enter any values into this field at the time of drafting, it will always default to the Clause you set up.

  • You will see the same textbox if you use dropdown options, so you can select one or more clauses at the time of drafting the documents.

Conditionally insert a Clause in your Template:

Step 1: Create a field your conditional field will depend on:

Step 2: Create conditional field IF statement. For the THEN statement, use the textbox on the right side to reference a Clause
